President and CEO: Gerald Van Decker is the inventor of the Power-Pipe and the key Visionary for the Drain Water Heat Recovery (DWHR) markets and applications across North America and Europe. So far, Gerald has trained over 3,000 design professionals providing Continuing Professional Development credits. Educating both professionals and the public about Drain Water Heat Recovery are one of his passions.
He previously worked for Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), where he was a research engineer in the field of Active Solar Technologies.
Gerald holds a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Systems Design Engineering, both from the University of Waterloo in Canada. His is also a Professional Engineer and a member of both ASPE (with Certified in Plumbing Design designation) and ASHRAE.
His Master's Thesis on modeling Transpired Solar Air Heaters (e.g. Solarwall) was published in the International Journal of Solar Energy. He also represented Canada with International Energy Agency (IEA) tasks, worked for Edgetech IG (former SuperSpacer manufacturer), worked for Sweden's largest power utility, and made the first large-cell translucent honeycomb insulation.
